Universities
We have been working with a student from the University of York who has been looking into the therapeutic nature of archaeology for those who have from Learning difficulties or mental health issues. We are hoping that this link will be beneficial to both the project and the student as we explore how the project can help those who take part not just in relationship to the study of their heritage but also in terms of their general wellbeing. The students are being supervised by John Schofield.
We are an Archaeology Community group based in the south of North Yorshire between Selby and York and we are keen to involve LD people in our 3 year Lottery funded Historic Landscape Project. Can you suggest a contact within WEA that can talk to me please?

Hello Brian
We’d certainly welcome opportunities for our projects to work together. Nicola Thorpe is the Project Worker developing the York hub with local Organiser Helen Widdowson. I’d advise you to make contact with Nicola in the first instance (hover over About and click Contacts for her details).
